Poetry

Without

by: Karen Jones

I allow you to look through me
Over, around, beyond and above me.

It suits me.

Your vague stare in the surrounding air,
Your opaque perception of who I am not,
nor want to be, in your selective vision
does little to perturb me.
For you are of little consequence to me.

Though I love you.

I enjoy my ethereal existence,
the cold does not concern me
My heart is warm.
You diminish me with your ignorance,
Yet enhance me a feeling of pride
for mine is a wider world.

I see all of you.
